I have made a big mess of the account of the European motorhome trip in this newsletter. Basically because of 2 things:
I have to reconcile family travel (in the daily routine of the road) with my personal creative travel. I tend to go to extremes, i.e. I strive to create content about the road trip (e.g. on my YouTube channel) while making the creative one invisible, or the other way around.
I recently realised that when I write on the computer, my brain associates it with "final version" with all the pressure that implies. On the other hand, when I write by hand in my notebook with my pen (which is like my toothbrush) my brain associates it with a "rough draft", which allows me to write freely and fluently.
Given these facts -which have become evident to me in the last few days- and, also understanding that there are 2 distinct audiences: the one that follows our family journey and the one that follows my creative journey, I have decided to make a change in this blog/newsletter.
(Drum roll)
I will separate the content into 2 sections: the one about the journey and the one about my studio practice. The first one will be free and the second one will be paid.
You may wonder why one is free and the other paid.
Well, basically it has to do with the fact that the travel section will be an extended version of the episodes that I upload every Friday on YouTube and that are free and open access, whose aim is to inspire people to fight for their dreams, whatever they may be. In our case, our dream was to live by travelling.
Now, the section related to my study practice will be paid (USD $5/month or £4/month) because there is a lot of study, work, books and materials behind it. And I want to offer the possibility for people, who want to support my work, to do so by making a small monthly contribution in exchange for content based on my knowledge and experience.
Don't worry! Your current subscription doesn't change anything. You will continue to receive the travel diary newsletters and you will be able to preview my study practice posts in the blog archive.
If you upgrade to the paid subscription, you will also have access to the full archive of all the content I have developed on this blog.
And the truth is that now I feel much more at peace with this travel diary and I will be able to organise myself better (you can't imagine how many drafts of articles I have that I've never sent you).
I'm trying to fix the participation settings so that free subscribers can also comment directly on the posts. In the meantime, if you have comments, feel free to reply to hola@claudiawool.com.
Have a great week,
Claudia
