🇺🇸 This blanket is inspired by the intrepid breath of the Patagonian wind. It advances without resistance through prairies and forests, then sneaks between buildings until finally, it merges with the Antarctic snow.

Finished Measurements:

US 7 (4.5mm) needles or size needed to obtain gauge, for working flat.

Gauge:
23 sts and 20 rows = 4” over stockinette stitch, blocked.
Notes:
The blanket is knitted on the bias, starting at one corner with 3 stitches. It increases at both ends to the blanket’s full width. Then, the work decreases on one side, while continuing to increase on the other side until the final length is reached. Finally, it decreases at both ends to leave 3 stitches to cast off.
Special Stitches:
M1K – make 1 knit stitch: insert L needle from front to back under the strand between sts; treating the strand as a st, knit through the back loop. (1 st inc)
M1P – make 1 purl stitch: uinsert L needle from front to back under the strand between sts: treating the strand as a st, purl through the back loop. (1 st inc)
Directions:
Slip the first stitch of every row purlwise – Sl1 WYIF on RS rows, and Sl1 WYIB on WS rows. All WS rows are knit over knit and purl over purl.
